When shopping and looking at various picnic sets that are for sale on the market, it immediately becomes apparent that there are many types of picnic sets that you can select from.  One major consideration has to do with the number of features included.  It’s obvious that the larder the set is, the more it will cost.  But there are subtle features that may increase the price of a set regardless of the size.

One of the key differences in picnic sets which will make a difference on the price is the quality of the construction of the picnic sets.  When looking at various picnic sets, you will notice that there are picnic sets that are made of basic waterproof nylon which are similar to the construction of a backpack.  A similar type of picnic set may have the same features and for the same number of persons but is made of suede leather which will cost you more.  Another picnic set might be made of high quality wood material which will also be costlier than either the nylon cloth and suede picnic sets.  Again, each of these sets feature the same amount of utensils, plates, napkins, and drinking glasses for the same amount of people.

When looking at the picnic sets which vary significantly in price, it’s best to compare the pros and cons of each one.  A nylon picnic set for example may be more waterproof in case of rain than a suede picnic set.  However, the one made of suede may also be more durable, may last longer, and is more aesthetically appealing than the one made of nylon which may lose its shape after awhile.  The drawback is that the suede set may not hold well in inclement weather. The picnic basket made of high quality wood may also not be useful if it rains but does have more aesthetics and durability.  So how do you decide what is the best one to use of all these picnic sets?

When faced with this decision, take some factors into account.  How often does it rain in your area during the summer months when you have picnics?  If it rains frequently, you may be better off buying the nylon waterproof set.  It may look weather beaten after awhile but at least you paid less for it than if you paid more for a set that is of higher quality that might get ruined after a couple of times using it in the rain.

This is a hypothetical example.  The point is: don’t feel that by spending more on a picnic set that one that costs less is of inferior quality.  The one that costs less may be the one you really need.
